George Revill is an English American tenor living in Southeast Virginia.  He has performed in the choruses of Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Virginia Opera, choral works such as Joby Talbot’s "Path of Miracles", C.H.H. Parry’s "Songs of Farewell", and Bernstein’s "Chichester Psalms" with the Virginia Chorale. He has also performed in song recitals in Indianapolis and in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and, more recently, in a Liederabend in the RVA Art Song Series.  George recently received a Master of Music degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Iain Paton and is currently studying with James Taylor.

James Myers has sung with Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap Opera Company and abroad in Europe with the Mittelsaechsisches Theater in Freiberg, Germany.  His most recent performances were with Bel Cantanti Opera Company in their productions of Die Csardasfurstin and La Traviata.  He holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance and works as a professional singer, actor and voice teacher in the Washington D.C. area. His operatic repertoire includes roles such as Fritz/Pierrot in Die tote Stadt, Posa in Don Carlo by Verdi and Valentin in Faust.  As a performer in musical theatre, James has played the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Tommy Albright in Brigadoon by Lerner and Loewe and South Carolina Senator Edward Rutledge in 1776.

Sarah Kate Walston has played more than 30 roles in opera and musical theatre productions throughout her career.

Sarah Kate also enjoys performing in recitals and concerts and has sung with the Baltimore, Richmond, Annapolis, Virginia, Williamsburg, and Carmel Symphony Orchestras.  Mrs. Walston has attended the Castleton Residency, Fairbanks Festival, and was a Young Artist with Lyric Opera Virginia, at Rossini in Wildbad Germany Festival, Virginia Opera.

In addition to being a singer, Sarah Kate teaches private voice, is a Teaching Artist for Wolf Trap Early Learning Center, and is on the Voice Faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University and Randolph Macon College.  She is also a voice over artist and actor.  Mrs. Walston, a Richmond, VA native, received her Bachelor of Music degree at Lee University and her Master of Music degree and Graduate Performance Diploma at The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.

Mezzo Soprano, Hannah Magnelli, is rapidly establishing herself as one of opera's brightest young stars. She is equally comfortable in opera, musical theatre, the concert hall, and the recording studio. Making her European debut singing Malika in Lakme with Bel Canto Tuscany in the Summer of 2019, and her New York debut as Romeo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi with conductor, Richard Nechamkin, Hannah sang Cherubino in Capitol Opera’s Nozze di Figaro and the title role in Carmen. She has worked and interned with many great musicians, such as Daniel Barenboim and musicians from the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, Sebastian Weigle at the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, pianist, Lauren Green, and musicians from the Staatskapelle Berlin. Hannah graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in vocal performance, and minoring in German. Further studies include Bel Canto in Tuscany in Greve in Chianti where she worked with acting coach, Dona D. Vaughn, Paolo Pecchioli, Elizabeth De Trejo, Will Crutchfield, and Danielle Orlando. She continues her studies with tenor, James Taylor, and Giovanni Reggioli, vocal coach/conductor for the Washington National Opera.

Christopher Mooney has appeared nationally with New York City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Aspen Opera Theatre, Opera Northeast, Connecticut Grand Opera, State Repertory Opera of New Jersey and the Caramoor Festival. Mr. Mooney received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master’s Degree from the Juilliard School. Locally he regularly sings with the Virginia Opera and the Virginia Symphony. He has served as Vice President and Governor of Virginia NATS. Mr. Mooney serves on faculty with Opera Festival di Roma, directing opera scenes and performing in their main stage productions in Rome and Orvieto, Italy. In 2018 he created the Jamestown Youth Choir, bringing historically-themed musical programs to the Williamsburg area. Chris is proud to join the voice faculty at The College of William and Mary in 2021, and will also continue to educate local singers from his home studio.

Helena Nuckols is a young artist with a passion for Opera and art song. She is making her debut with Commonwealth Concert Opera. Helena recently earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Music and plans to continue pursuing a career in Classical Voice Performance and attend Graduate School. Helena has worked on a number of solo and collaborative performances with VCU Opera, The Defiant Requiem Foundation, The Tuckahoe Woman's Club, and now Commonwealth Concert Opera. She has also learned about the other equally important aspects of an opera production such as working with costumes, wigs, hair, and makeup.

James Taylor, M.M. (Yale University), is an internationally celebrated performer. At home in opera, concert, recital, and musical theatre, he has appeared with numerous opera companies, symphonies, and theatres, including the New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Opera Carolina, Göttigen Handel Festspiele, Theatre Augsburg, and the Nederlandse Reisopera. He has given recitals in the US, Europe, and Asia, and has appeared in leading roles in musicals.

He has produced, directed, and conducted several operas and musicals such as Die Zauberflote, Cosi fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, L'Esir D'Amore, The Crucible, The Old Maid and the Thief, Der Schausspiel Direktor, La Boheme, Dido & Aeneas, La Serva Padrona, La Traviata, and Madama Butterfly.

A talented and sought-after educator, he has served as Director of Opera at Drake University and the University of Alabama and has been on the music faculties of VCU and the University of Virginia. His students have gone on to such prestigious schools as Carnegie Mellon University, NYU's Tish School, New England Conservatory, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Yale University, and the Royal College of Music. Several of his students perform regularly with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Semperoper, Glyndebourne, the Opera Comique, Utah Opera, Central City Opera, Landestheater Niederbayern, and the Oldenburgisches Staatsoper.

Douglas Brown is the organist and choir director at Ginter Park Presbyterian Church and is the director of music and adjunct faculty member at Union Presbyterian Seminary. His performances at Ginter Park have included Mendelssohn’s Elijah (organist) and Handel’s Messiah (conductor). He received his bachelor’s degree in music from Duke University and holds a Master of Musical Arts degree in organ performance, and a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the Yale University School of Music. This marks his first time accompanying an opera with Commonwealth Concert Opera. In addition to solo organ recitals, Mr. Brown has served as accompanist for vocal recitals by Kenneth Wood and Teresa Vicario.

Reese Williams has been a voice actor for over 25 years. She enjoys this work because it allows her to be obnoxiously animated, yet socially acceptable. She’s lent her talent to live radio, animation, mobile apps, voicemails, commercials, corporate videos and backup singing vocals. She’s Head of Business Development for In Your Ear Studios in Richmond, so now she gets to run her mouth about her beloved audio industry for a living. She hosts the live stream concert series Shockoe Sessions Live, and its companion podcast, "This Room Sounds Great". She also produces and hosts her own podcast titled "Spying on Humanity"
